What are the benefits of using insulating glass?

       A lot of heat is lost from the Windows of buildings in winter. According to calculations in the United States, the energy lost through Windows in buildings accounts for approximately 30% of the total energy consumption of buildings. It accounts for a relatively large proportion in Sweden, approximately 70%. Accounting data in China shows that it accounts for approximately 50%. Domestic and international practices have proved that enhancing the insulation function of building envelope structures, especially that of Windows, is the most economical and effective way to prevent heat loss in buildings. However, the simple condensation problem of double glass, especially when the double glass is not sealed tightly, the simple fogging on the inner and outer surfaces of the insulating layer glass will affect the application function. Therefore, it is an inevitable trend to replace double-pane Windows with insulating glass.

　　Although the new Chinese standards have significantly raised the requirements for the heat transfer coefficient of Windows compared to the original standards, there is still a certain gap compared with foreign standards.

　　At present, the main problem with the use of insulating glass in China's construction industry is the increase in construction costs. The increase in construction costs can be quickly recovered from energy conservation. The technical and economic calculation results of the planning department's use of insulating glass show that the energy-saving effect of insulating glass in cold regions of China (Northeast China, Inner Mongolia) can compensate for the increased construction costs within 4 to 5 years.
